Plot Synopsis
HOW IT'S MADE is a half-hour documentary series the reveals the processes and raw materials used to make everyday items. Each 30-minute episode typically features four 4.5-minute segments about a different product, including items like balloons, wallpaper, frozen french fries, incandescent light bulbs, handcuffs, caulking and joint compound, propane tanks, forensic facial reconstruction, solid state drives, eye shadow, limousines, dead blow hammers, and many more frequently seen products. Science Channel aired the U.S. premiere of the twelfth season (according to listings on the Science Channel website) of HOW IT'S MADE on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, with the Season 12 opener revealing the processes for making motion sensors, belt loaders, and diving helmets, while also showing how pheasants are bred. Science Channel premiered a new season of HOW IT'S MADE on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 9-10pm ET as part of a 24-hour marathon. The season opener (9pm) reveals what it takes to manufacture Chemical Tank Pressure Vents, Candy Wafers, Food Trucks, and Traditional Ropes. Then, the night's second new episode (9:30pm) documents how people make Graphene, the World's Smallest Car, Force Testers, and Composite Cans.
