Plot Synopsis

This half-hour comedy series follows the lives of a multi-generational family forced by circumstance to live under one roof. Tyler Perry's HOUSE OF PAYNE tackles real life issues with humor and pathos. After airing in syndication for its first year, HOUSE OF PAYNE switched to TBS, starting with the Season 2 premiere on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 9pm ET, the cable channel that showed new episodes through August 2012.

After an 8-year break, TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE returned for its seventh season on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 8-9pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. LaVan Davis, Cassi Davis Patton, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, China Anne McClain, Larramie 'Doc' Shaw, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Allen Payne star. Season 7 picks up five years later, as retired fire chief Curtis Payne and his lovely wife Ella continue to navigate the problems of life with their quirky modern-day family.

Season 8 of TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE premiered on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. The eighth season features retired fire chief Curtis Payne and his lovely wife Ella. Together the loving couple navigates the problems of life with their quirky modern-day family. In the season opener, "Whiplash," the Payne family becomes concerned while searching for C.J. after learning he ran into a burning building. After a 3-month break, TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE returned with new episodes on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. In the fall premiere, "Me Against the World," family game night at the Paynes' is crashed by a surprise guest.

The ninth season of TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE premiered on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. In the season opener, "What's in a Payne Name," with Lisa and Malik home with the new baby and Janine's plane status still unknown, tensions are very high; Ella and Miranda welcome the couple and the newborn home while Curtis, C.J., and Calvin are elsewhere. After a 4.5-month break, TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE returned with new episodes on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT on BET and BET Her. In the mid-season debut, "Paynful Pain," Curtis notices he has been taking Ella for granted, and he is determined to show her that she is still the love of his life. With their 40th wedding anniversary approaching, he recruits Calvin and CJ to make his perfect plan come to life.

TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE returned for its tenth season on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her and VH1. In the new season, the Payne family continues to face matters of the heart, health and wellness, and boundaries with respect to relationships and parenting head-on. Calvin becomes obsessed with coaching his son's soccer team and learns that his aggressive approach may be a case of like-father-like-son. It turns out that Curtis was also a domineering soccer coach when Calvin was growing up and lost his own coaching license. In addition, Miranda stirs the pot with a self-published novel and has everyone up in arms trying to figure out what's in the book they all assume is a tell-all. Calvin, Laura and Miranda must address blended family issues and the Paynes are finally introduced to Lisa's mom, Deena. Jazmine visits from college and the family must get used to the new and evolved young woman she's become, and the type of people she chooses to spend her time with. China Anne McClain and Demetria Payne return for the new season. After a three-month break, TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE returned with three back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 9-10:30pm ET/PT on BET and BET Her.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT, BET and BET Her premiered the eleventh season of HOUSE OF PAYNE. In Season 11, the Payne family goes through more of life's ups and downs and unexpected circumstances with grace and laughter while learning a host of life lessons. To start, Calvin, now a daily presence in Calvin Jr.'s life, is learning how to navigate raising a preteen who is testing the limits. Meanwhile, Calvin and Laura are on the outs, and he has no idea why. The only clue Laura left him is a "Dear John" letter that leaves him more clueless and confused. In his pursuit of answers, Calvin solicits help from the most unlikely source: Miranda. Soon, they both learn that Laura's discontent revolves around the very person helping Calvin investigate. In the season opener, "Piece by Piece," Calvin teams up with his ex-wife Miranda to get to the bottom of why Laura broke off their engagement, while also working with Ella to repair his relationship with Calvin Jr. Meanwhile, Curtis and Floyd attempt to get publicity for their BBQ sauce brand by hosting their own cooking show on TV... if only they can get out of their own way.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT, BET and BET Her premiered "Final Answer," the Season 11 finale of HOUSE OF PAYNE. Jazmine gets caught up in a cheating scandal at school and Curtis enlists the help of a vlogger to promote his food truck.
