Plot Synopsis
HOTEL SECRETS & LEGENDS documents mysterious, captivating and downright strange stories from America's history that have occurred in and around hotels. Each 60-minute episode chronicles stories from three hotels including: the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, where John Wilkes Booth checked in after assassinating President Abraham Lincoln eight days earlier; The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO, which has a famous exterior that inspired "The Shining" by Stephen King; NYC's Hotel New Yorker, a favorite of inventor Nikola Tesla, who was captivated by the hotel's state-of-the-art power; The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, where Hollywood superstar Roscoe Conkling 'Fatty' Arbuckle was accused of murder after a wild hotel room party; The Patee House Museum, formerly a hotel, which is famous for being the first place of refuge that Jesse James' widow turned to immediately following his murder; and many more hotels with long-lived legends. When Travel Channel aired encore presentations of this series in 2015, it used a new title, MYSTERIES AT THE HOTEL, but kept the episode titles the same.
