Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Andrew Schulz, THE HOOK UP is a half-hour dating show that uses social media to match singles. In each episode, one Single, with the help of friends, has three rounds to explore pics, vids, tweets, and updates of four potential daters, eliminating one potential date at the end of each round. In the first round, the Single eliminates one potential dater after seeing silhouettes, names, hometowns, occupations and short descriptions of four daters. In Round Two, the Single is shown status updates, tweets, photos and videos for each potential dater, with each person having a chance to defend themselves before facing elimination. Ultimately, two finalists go head-to-head in the final round, when they meet the Single face to face and expose their often embarrassing and always personal secrets. The Single then chooses one to hook up with, but, after being selected, the chosen Dater gets to see the Single's online dirt before accepting the date or choosing the alternative prize instead.
