Plot Synopsis

HOLMES & HOLMES is a one-hour reality series that follows professional contractor Mike Holmes and with his son, home renovation expert Mike Jr., as they transform the twentysomething's bachelor pad -- a single-story 750-square foot bungalow -- into a two-story home for Mike Jr. and his girlfriend, Lisa. During the series, the Holmes team faces the challenges of any major home reno, from cracked foundations and water damage to budget shortfalls and time crunches. Each episode focuses on one stage of the renovation process and showcases the father/son journey as they tackle the project together using the latest construction materials and build techniques.

Season 2 of HOLMES & HOLMES premiered on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network, as professional contractor Mike Holmes and his son, home renovation expert Mike Jr., tackle more father/son projects. Armed with Mike Sr.'s personal mission to "make it right," the 12-episode season stars the pair as they buy and transform three tired properties into dream homes. But it won't be all business during this family affair as Mike Jr. plans his wedding to fiancee Lisa throughout the season. The series also features the struggles of working with family. In the season opener, "We're in Business," Mike and MJ decide to go into business together to buy houses and renovate them right. But MJ is in for a surprise when he discovers Mike has already purchased the house that will be their first project as official business partners. After the shaky start, the duo agrees to work on the ground rules of their new partnership so they can get along and turn a profit. Then, they find another potential investment 3.5 hours away.

On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiere the third season of HOLMES & HOLMES, immediately following a nine-hour marathon (Noon-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "Families Helping Families," Mike is going back to his roots and helping families, along with his kids, Michael and Sherry. At a home they dub The City Barn, they plan to fix the weathered roof and make the property more accessible for a 13-year-old who is battling cancer. When the reno is delayed because of structural issues, the Holmes team begins a second job at The Flood House and uncovers how a little leak turned into a nightmare for the homeowners.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered "Holmes Is Where the Heart Is," the Season 3 finale of HOLMES & HOLMES. Work continues on the Twice Done House as the crew finishes the flooring and the kitchen is installed. Mike must take care of a health issue, leaving Sherry and Michael to put the finishing touches on the renovation.
