Plot Synopsis
This two-part special travels across America to explore backyard thrill rides built with Southern ingenuity. In each 60-minute episode, HILLBILLY THRILL RIDES reveals three different rides, including: the Redneck Slingshot in North Carolina, built by combining two telephone poles, bungee cords, and an ATV at a bar, where patrons are launched; the hillbilly spinning chair, a tractor ride with a bucket seat that spins at 30-40mph; a self-built, 50-foot, near-vertical waterslide that shoots riders into gator-infested waters in the bayou; a 40-foot-tall, flame-throwing rollercoaster, made out of scrap metal and elbow grease at The SpeedCult Compound in Michigan; a jet-sprint boat-race course, built by a resourceful redneck named Piss Willy, who flooded a field to create his own lake; and a house leap, where two young Floridians built their own landing area made out of duct tape, a leaf blower, and two plastic tarps.
