Plot Synopsis

Based on Luke Pearson's comic-book series of the same name, HILDA is a half-hour animated series that centers on fearless, free-spirited Hilda, who finds new friends, adventure and magical creatures when she leaves her enchanted forest home and journeys to the big city of Trolberg. On Friday, September 21, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the 13-episode first season of HILDA. In the series opener, "Chapter 1: The Hidden People," tiny, invisible people threaten Hilda's fun and adventurous life in the wilderness with her mother and pet deer-fox, Twig.

The 13-episode second season debuted on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire new season. From a terrible two-headed troll to a tower full of witches, in Season 2 Hilda finds adventure, magic and trouble in Trolberg and beyond with pals Frida and David. In the season opener, "Chapter 1: The Troll Circle," Hilda's essay about her close encounter with a troll wins her the chance to tag along with Trolberg's new head of the safety patrol, Erik Ahlberg.

On Thursday, December 30, 2021, Netflix released "Hilda and the Mountain King," an 84-minute HILDA movie special. This feature-length adventure based on Luke Pearson's comics picks up where Season 2 left off. When Hilda wakes up in the body of a troll, she must use her wits and courage to get back home, become human again -- and save the city of Trolberg. Starring: Bella Ramsey, Ameerah Falzon-Ojo, Oliver Nelson, Daisy Haggard, Rasmus Hardiker, John Hopkins, Lucy Montgomery, Dino Kelly, Rachel August, and Agnes Peacock.

HILDA returned for its eight-episode third and final season on Thursday, December 7, 2023 on Netflix, with fearless, free-spirited Hilda taking one final adventure full of mythical creatures, magic, family, and friends. In the season opener, "Chapter 1: The Train to Tofoten," Hilda and the gang take the train to Tofoten to visit Great-Aunt Astrid for a relaxing holiday -- but adventure soon comes knocking at their door. Season 3 ends with "Chapter 8: The Fairy Isle," a 78-minute episode, where Hilda journeys into the fairy mound to look for her father, unraveling surprising family secrets along the way -- but the truth comes at a great risk.
