Plot Synopsis
HIGHWAY THRU HELL follows the men of Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue as they fight to keep open some North America's most important trucking routes, including the treacherous Coquihalla Highway, a 100-kilometer road that cuts through the heart of British Columbia's Cascade Mountains. Trying to climb a long and gruelling 8% grade during winter storms, truckers spin out and smash up. During the worst storms, the big wrecks can comes as often as every 12 hours. And when these wrecks close the road and choke traffic, the call goes out to Jamie Davis. Dropping everything to respond, it's is their job to remove the often-dangerous cargo, clean up the twisted metal, clear the road and get traffic rolling again for hundreds of drivers.
After its first season aired on Nat Geo in the United States, premiering on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, HIGHWAY THRU HELL switched networks to Weather Channel for its second season in the U.S., which debuted on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT.
HIGHWAY THRU HELL returned for its third season on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Weather Channel. In the Season 3 opener, "New Hell, Old Hell," a new winter season starts with Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue split in two -- Adam has taken half the fleet north to Alberta's rich and dangerous oil fields, while Jamie stays back to fight and keep the Coq open all by himself.
The Weather Channel aired the U.S. premiere of the fifth season of HIGHWAY THRU HELL on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 7-10pm ET, debuting a new one-hour special followed by back-to-back episodes: "Rear View" (7pm): Jamie Davis reflects on the rocky road that brought him to last season's dramatic crossroads. "Less Is More" (8pm): Jamie battles a truck fire on the Coq and reveals big changes to his operation; a former team member makes a surprise return. "Suicide Creek" (9pm): A simple job turns into an urgent puzzle when a flipped semi pulls Jamie back out on the road; Randy Jacknife faces a truck trapped under its load of steel. The Weather Channel aired the U.S. premiere of the sixth season of HIGHWAY THRU HELL. In the season opener, "Cliff Hanger," winter strikes hard and fast as Jamie Davis and his heavy rescue crew face tough new challenges in Hope, BC; a former operator returns but a spectacular wreck pushes him to the edge on his first mountain recovery.
Season 7 of HIGHWAY THRU HELL had its U.S. premiere on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 7-9pm ET/PT, as Weather Channel debuted back-to-back episodes. In the season premiere, "A Mighty Winter," Jamie's restored classic wrecker faces its first test; Colin, Merv and Jason attempt a heavy rescue; Al battles with an excavator buried in a rock-slide.
On Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT, Weather Channel aired the U.S. debut of HIGHWAY THRU HELL's tenth season. In the season opener, "Red Truck Wreck," Gord deals with a heavy snowfall; the Reliable crew's military rotator meets double trouble off-road.
Season 11 of HIGHWAY THRU HELL made its U.S. debut on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on Weather Channel. In the season opener, "Hell and High Water," Jamie's new operator hits a Coquihalla mudslide, while highway crews are in a life or death race to evacuate motorists and save vital infrastructure.

After a multi-week delay because of live coverage of winter storms, Weather Channel aired the U.S. debut of HIGHWAY THRU HELL's twelfth season with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 8-10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Endless Summer" (8pm), Jamie is on high alert with a wildfire threatening his own backyard in Hope; Team Aggressive must navigate tinder dry conditions on a back road bush recovery; Reliable Towing wrangles an overturned cattle hauler under smoke-filled skies. In the night's second episode, "Triple Threat" (9pm), Jamie joins forces with brother Jason and Aggressive Towing to pull off a triple rotator job; Team Reliable's Ty and Andy contend with trees and tight space to pull out an RV; Jamie gets emotional when one of his favorite trucks goes down in flames.
