Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2013, HGTV SMART HOME GIVEAWAY has shown the winner's reaction when an HGTV host ambushes that person to tell them they have won the annual Smart Home sweepstakes. HGTV has announced the winner before airing this special, and these winners include: Peggy Walker (2013), who won a high-tech, shingle-style vacation home in Jacksonville Beach, FL, a 2013 GMC Terrain Denali and $100,000. HGTV first aired this 30-minute special, HGTV SMART HOME 2013 GIVEAWAY, on Friday, August 15, 2013 at 7pm ET/PT, during which host Chi-Lan Lieu recruited friends and family of the winner to give her the biggest surprise of her life. On Friday, August 22, 2014 at 6pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered HGTV SMART HOME 2014 GIVEAWAY, a half-hour special during which Tiffany Brooks showed up at Ashley King's parents' home to hand her the keys to the high-tech HGTV Smart Home, an all-new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, and a $100,000 cash prize provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans. This year, Ashley was selected from almost 49 million entries to win a 3-bedroom/4.5-bath, three-level home located in the premiere Duncanwood Reserve neighborhood of Nashville's Green Hills area.

HGTV SMART HOME 2015 GIVEAWAY premiered on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1pm ET/PT on HGTV. During this half-hour special, Tiffany Brooks surprised Isabel Villarreal of Harlingen, Texas, at a local restaurant with an HGTV production crew. Isabel won the 2,300-square-foot home located in Austin, Texas; a 2015 Mercedes C-Class sedan; and $100,000.
