Plot Synopsis

For the first time, HARD KNOCKS presents a multi-episode, in-season edition when HBO Sports and NFL FILMS team up for HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON: THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, which follows the Colts as they navigate the challenges of an NFL season and battle for a playoff berth. In Week 17 (Episode 8), the Colts face a dramatic week on and off the field. First overcoming a slew of positive COVID tests on the roster, including Quarterback Carson Wentz, then facing the Las Vegas Raiders for a chance to claim a spot in the NFL Playoffs. On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, HBO premiered the season finale of HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON: THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS. In Week 18 (Episode 9), the final week of the regular season, the Colts have their post-season fate in their own hands. If they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final game, the Colts guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. But with Quarterback Carson Wentz still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, will he be activated in time for the big game?

The sophomore season of HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON debuted on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on HBO, with the new season following the Arizona Cardinals as they navigate the challenges of an NFL season and battle for a playoff berth. HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON: THE ARIZONA CARDINALS joins the Cardinals after the completion of their ninth regular season game (vs. Seattle) with new episodes airing each Wednesday with the exception of December 7, after the team's week 13 bye. NFL FILMS cameras will be embedded with the franchise through the end of the regular season and hopeful playoff run all the way to the Super Bowl.

Season 3 of HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON premiered on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on HBO. The new season follows the Miami Dolphins, with a new installment debuting each Tuesday through January 9. Led by second-year head coach Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins navigate the final eight games of the regular season and battle to return to the NFL playoffs. Camera crews chronicle the team in real time ahead of their November 19 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, giving viewers an intimate look at their offense featuring quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and running back Raheem Mostert, as well as their defense anchored by the likes of Christian Wilkins, Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, Xavien Howard, Jalen Ramsey, and Jevon Holland.

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT, HBO premiered the season finale of HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON WITH THE MIAMI DOLPHINS. The season ender focuses on the Dolphins Wild Card Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, which was the fourth-coldest game in NFL history at -4F.
