Plot Synopsis

Mixing live action with traditional animation, cut-out paper animation, and 8-bit video game footage, THE GUARDIANS OF JUSTICE is a seven-episode series that's an art-house satire of the superhero genre. The alien superhero Marvelous Man has kept the Earth at peace for 40 years, but a devastating secret -- and its tragic consequences -- throws the world into chaos. As crime and chaos spin out of control, Marvelous Man's bitter and violent lieutenant, Knight Hawk, starts to investigate the "god killer" bullet and Marvelous Man's mysterious demise. Anubis terrorists leave a gruesome trail of destruction while power-hungry world leaders move toward nuclear war; meanwhile, The Guardians suffer painful losses. As the public loses faith, Knight Hawk's interrogations uncover more of the Guardians' buried secrets. Sparks fly between Awesome Man and an idealistic do-gooder, The Speed, who is trying to stop nuclear war. All seven episodes of THE GUARDIANS OF JUSTICE dropped on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 on Netflix.
