Plot Synopsis
In the weeks leading up to the PGA Tour's most significant tournaments, GOLF'S GREATEST ROUNDS relives each event's greatest round of golf. Each 2.5- or 3-hour episode features a round from a single tournament, including The Players Championship from 2012 (shown on April 16, 2013), 2003 (shown April 23), and 1996 (shown April 30); The U.S. Open from 2008 (shown on May 14, 2013), 2006 (shown May 21) and 1971 (shown May 28); and additional events later in the year. The first episode highlighted the 2012 Players Championship from May 10-13 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where Matt Kuchar won by two strokes, following a pair of late birdies on the 12th and 16th holes on the final day. Plus, an episode later in the year featured the 1971 U.S. Open, which Lee Trevino (pictured) beat Jack Nicklaus in a playoff that started with Trevino throwing a rubber snake in Nicklaus' direction on the first tee.
