Plot Synopsis
Dave Turin spent years working alongside Todd Hoffman on GOLD RUSH, earning the nickname "Dozer Dave" after spending countless hours bulldozing in the quest for gold. After his departure from that series, people around the country started reaching out to Dave, asking for his help resurrecting their failing mines. Now, Dave returns to gold mining in this new series, GOLD RUSH: DAVE TURIN'S LOST MINE, as he searches for a lost and abandoned mine to resurrect, while chasing the gold the old-timers left behind. Using his expertise, and the backing of financiers, Dave is on a mission to become his own mine boss and make his fortune. Seven episodes follow Dave's search for the one abandoned mine that he's willing to risk everything for and will air exclusively on the Discovery GO platform, which is free to viewers with their cable subscription. Dave will explore the history of each mine and prospect the land to figure out which mine could see him win big. The search will culminate with Dave picking the one abandoned mine he can turn into newfound riches.
The sophomore season of GOLD RUSH: DAVE TURIN'S LOST MINE premiered on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. This season, Dave is turning it up a notch, expanding his hunt for an even bigger payday in the historic lost mines of Montana. But will his big gamble pay off? Or will Dave and his team go home empty handed? With more than 3,500 abandoned mines in the Treasure State, Dave believes one of them could be a jackpot in gold. But finding it will require him to uncover the history and decode the land like never before. The stakes couldn't be any higher as Dave and his team go up against the clock in a search for gold before the winter freezes the land out completely. If that wasn't difficult enough, Dave has set a gold target of 400 ounces this year ($600,000 at today's price) with his crew entrusting his ability to find gold by becoming partners with him.
GOLD RUSH: DAVE TURIN'S LOST MINE returned for its third season on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. After pandemic travel restrictions make Dave's plans of mining in Alaska impossible, Team Turin finally sets up their operation in Colorado. Armed with an all-new state-of-the-art wash plant, they begin work on a lost mine with massive gold potential. With gold prices reaching all-time highs, Dave's dream of achieving financial security and total freedom seems just in reach until tragedy strikes the gold claim. With the Rocky Mountain summer heat on their backs, Team Turin's detective work leads them to legendary 'main channel' gold the Colorado oldtimers missed. They quickly face local resistance and the toughest ground they've ever mined, so the crew must dig deeper than ever before. Then, by looking to the lessons from local history, they soon begin to strike big hauls of gold. But the success turns bittersweet when gold room operator Jesse Goins suddenly passes away. Devastated at the loss of their mining brother, the team take time out to mourn. But Team Turin won't be denied, and they return to work, on a mission to dedicate the season to Jesse and his share of the gold to his family. And after Dave makes a game-changing pivot, the crew pushes on towards a record-breaking season.

After failing in six states during the off-season, the mining season has begun, and Team Turin still has no ground to mine. With the clock ticking, Dave and team assemble in Idaho to prospect two claims in that state. Dave and geologist Aryn Rowe travel to the remote Warren Meadows mining claim while the rest of the team drives the new mobile wash plant "The Beetle" to a claim at Mores Creek in the Boise Basin. After more disappointments, Team Turin rallies and decides to gamble on the unknown as they head to Big Sky Country, the state of Montana.
