Plot Synopsis

Set in the remote Alaskan town of Port Moore as it is being overrun by paranormal forces, GHOST WARS is a one-hour scripted series that centers on local outcast and troubled medium Roman Mercer who must overcome the town's prejudices -- and his own demons -- if he's to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting threatening to destroy them all. Roman is a troubled young loner, plagued by his ability to see dead people and communicate with the spirit world. He yearns to be left alone by both the living and the dead. Just as Roman prepares to leave the one-horse town of Port Moore, an earthquake strikes the Alaskan island and awakens a supernatural force hell-bent on destruction. Long before the ghosts arrived in this remote town, Reverend Dan was suffering from a crisis of faith, because of his congregations flagging membership. But it turns out that ghosts are good for his business, and most of Port Moore's residents seek answers from religion. Other residents include: the town's doctor, Marilyn, who is well-respected for her medical skills, but is often the target of gossip about the age difference between her and her wife; former fisherman Jimmy, who uses his boat to smuggle contraband into Port Moore, and is either a charming rogue or scam artist, depending on who you ask in town; pragmatic young research scientist Landis Barker, who hails from a small town like Port Moore, a place she spent her entire life trying to escape; and Doug, a troubled and angry man, who is haunted by the horrors of his past, making Roman a convenient scapegoat.

On Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, Syfy premiered "...My Soul to Keep," the season finale of GHOST WARS. While the ghosts build a resistance against Roman, Port Moore survivors draw straws in preparation for their final battle, a quest to connect the two halves of the artifact in the ghost realm. The catch is that to beat the ghosts, they have to die.
