Plot Synopsis

Bob Magill and his Pittsburgh-based paranormal team, ParaCORE, help clients overcome their hauntings by using human bait to communicate with ghosts after deploying high-tech equipment to detect and monitor spirits. Some parapsychologists believe spirits feed off the energy of the living, and that fear is their food of choice. Clients who call the team have already worked with paranormal teams, psychics, and in some cases clergy, but have failed to find a resolution. Magill, who started using ghost bait in 2010, puts each homeowner in a hood, something similar to what the Scarecrow character wears in the Batman movie. The hood lets in a little bit of light, making it scarier than wearing a blindfold, which would immerse the person in complete darkness and dull their senses. Magill then takes the hooded homeowner into the house to confront the ghost, while the client wears a heart-rate monitor and is surrounded by high-tech equipment, like robotic investigators, tesla coils, specialized solo-expedition camera rigs, ion generators, mirror boxes, and battery rings. Then, the team tries to use the client's own fear to ferret out the truth behind the haunting, communicate with the ghost, and hopefully evict the spirit for good. In each 30-minute episode, Magill and his team try to help one client, including: the owner of a 140-year-old stone mansion with a history of murder and suicide, where they uncover "the single most definitive piece of paranormal evidence" that has ever been captured on film; Chelsea, who reports being touched and worries the spirit may be targeting her infant; Lindsay, who camps out in the living room with her boyfriend, has been grabbed by an unseen force upstairs, and has spotted an apparition in a basement mirror; and many more people who are desperate enough to use their own fear to bring out spirits in their homes.
