Plot Synopsis

Using first-person interviews, photographs and re-enactments, FRENEMIES: LOYALTY TURNED LETHAL explores friendships that fall apart and the horrible -- and usually fatal -- consequences of loyalty betrayed, including what former friends and family say as the guilty party is sentenced for his/her crimes. This series traces friendships through good times, then chronicles how things gradually went sour, and ends with the shocking, violent confrontation. Each 30-minute episode features one story about how BFFs became lethal frenemies, including those of: Kamisha Richards and Kayla Henriques, who grew up together in an inner city housing project and had become like sisters, but their frendship was tested during an online fight; Darlene Haynes and Julie Corey were roommates and best friends, who were both due to give birth around the same time, but they grew apart following a series of betrayals; Faye Bennett and Jennifer Helmedach, childhood friends growing up and thinking they would be best friends forever, who were led into a deadly trap after a series of lies, backstabbings, and betrayals; Shannon and Tiana, best friends and cousins, whose friendship led them to a fatal encounter after Shannon invited Tiana to live with her; and many more formerly close friends.

On Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery aired the first two episodes of Season 2. In the first episode, a man came between two Vegas blackjack dealers, Brenda Stokes and Joyce Rhone, causing one of them to risk everything in a vengeful plot of kidnapping and murder. The night's second episode explored the relationship between two expectant mothers, Angelique Robledo and Kassandra Toruga, who befriended each other, but one wanted more than a friendship -- and was willing to do whatever it took to get it.
