Plot Synopsis

Dr. Henry Morgan, NYC's star medical examiner, studies the dead to solve criminal cases, while also trying to unravel the mystery about his own secret immortality -- an answer which has eluded him for 200 years. At the age of 35, Henry died for the first time, and despite many more deaths, is always reborn at 35 years old, without aging a day. With morbid experiments, he tries to get to the bottom of his inexplicable immortality, but every time he is reborn as the same old Henry. Being immortal can have its advantages, but it also means he outlived Abigail, the love of his life. Henry searches for the secret of his immortality in his personal lab, which is hidden in an antique store owned by Abe, a 76-year-old friend who is the only person to know his secret. On a positive note, Henry's long life has given him remarkable observation skills, which impress his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez, with whom he solves a new case each week, while also revealing layers of his long and colorful past. His skills are so keen that when he first met Jo, she didn't have to tell him she was a recent widow who was drinking to mask her pain. He could see that for himself. Henry and Jo combine to make a powerful crime fighting team, and each week, a new case -- and their budding friendship -- peels back the layers of Henry's extraordinary past. They both are hiding pieces of their lives and both have lost a great love, albeit Henry's stretches back some years. Henry met his beloved Abigail during World War II. On the other hand, Jo lost her husband a year-and-a-half ago. FOREVER had a special premiere on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, moving to its regular timeslot the next day on Tuesday, September 23 at 10pm ET/PT.

On Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, ABC premiered the season finale of FOREVER. In the season ender, "The Last Death of Henry Morgan," Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head -- possibly bringing about one man's death -- with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo's murder investigation into a museum worker's death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time. Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death -- that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation. But at long last, will Jo finally learn about Henry's secret? John Noble guest stars as museum curator Aubrey Griffin.
