Plot Synopsis

FOR THE LOVE OF CARS is a one-hour reality series that follows Philip Glenister and car designer Ant Anstead, as they scour the barns and lock ups of Britain for wrecked treasures to bring to life. In each 60-minute episode, the duo search for a specific make, model and year; identify and buy a neglected vehicle that fits the description; restore that vehicle to its glory days; get opinions from car club members; and ultimately auction off that automobile, with the proceeds going to charity. On Friday, August 25, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, Velocity aired the U.S. premiere of this series. In the U.S. debut, "Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico," Anstead and Glenister hunt down the Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico, which became a celebrated British rally car after winning the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally. Incredibly rare, Ant takes on the tough task of rebuilding the rusty jigsaw puzzle.
