Plot Synopsis
Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr. and executive produced by Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, FOR LIFE is a fictional serialized legal and family drama about an imprisoned man, Aaron Wallace, who becomes a lawyer litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn't commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves -- his estranged wife Marie and daughter Jasmine -- and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. Through the window of his ferocious struggle and complicated relationship with a progressive female prison warden, Safiya Masry, FOR LIFE examines the flaws and challenges in our penal and legal systems. Aaron's inspirational struggle shows how one person can make a difference when fighting for the truth.
Season 2 of FOR LIFE premiered on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC. Aaron's fight continues as the wrongfully convicted prisoner-turned-litigator and social crusader embarks on a more personal journey. Aaron is motivated by the hope of being reunited with his family and reclaiming a life of freedom to take up the mantle against systemic injustice from outside the prison walls. With continued help from the people who supported him -- his family, a wily one-time public defender, Henry Roswell, and his former prison warden, Safiya Masry -- Aaron continues his battle, while on probation, against the very political machine that once put him away undeservedly. After a six-week break, FOR LIFE returned with new episodes on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC. In the winter premiere, "354," after an urgent call from Bellmore concerning the growing COVID-19 pandemic, Aaron enlists Safiya's help and heads back to the prison to investigate. Meanwhile Marie faces a choice: Expose her family to the virus or go all-in at the hospital.
