Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Adam Richman, FOOD FIGHTERS gives homegrown amateur cooks the chance to test their skills against professional chefs, as each contestant tries to win up to $100,000. Every down-home cook has one signature dish that always gains favor with friends and family. Now, that person goes head to head in the kitchen against five professional chefs, who try to cook the cheftestant's specialty dish even better than they can. In each one-hour episode, a new amateur cook, armed only with a treasured family recipe, squares off against an expert chef who cooks the same dish -- but with no advance notice of what the dish will be. The completed dishes are then sampled in a blind taste test by culinary judges known as The Dinner Party. If the home cook wins, they earn a cash prize. Even if they don't win, they still get to face off against another culinary expert, climbing a money ladder with increasing cash prizes for every one of the five professional chefs they knock out. Each panel of culinary pros features a different celebrity food expert, including these guest stars in Season 1: Cat Cora, Lorena Garcia, G. Garvin, Duff Goldman, Elizabeth Falkner and Jet Tila. On Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the second season of FOOD FIGHTERS, with home chef Jacky Herrera taking on "Dr. Barbecue" Ray Lampe in the season opener. In Season 2, top amateur kid and adult contestants put their signature dishes to the test against pro chefs that include "Dr. Barbecue" Ray Lampe, Rocco DiSpirito, Nadia G., Lorena Garcia, Duff Goldman, Eric Greenspan, Antonia Lofaso, Brian Malarkey, Aaron McCargo, Marcel Vigneron and Fabio Viviani.

NBC premiered the Season 2 finale of FOOD FIGHTERS on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT. In the season ender, "This Soccer Mom Sizzles," a married stay-at-home mother of three from Washington tries to win $100,000 going up against culinary experts specializing in everything from Latin dishes to global cuisine before facing off against acclaimed celebrity chef Marcel Vigneron.
