Plot Synopsis

FLIPPING THE HEARTLAND is a half-hour reality series that follows Daniel Wiafe and his wife Melinda, as they find, renovate and flip homes in and around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Even though they may not always see eye to eye on a property -- he sees dollar signs, while she often sees dumps -- the dynamic duo shares a flipping philosophy: every project they take on must yield them a five-figure profit. But with Melinda's dry sense of humor, Daniel's undying enthusiasm and optimistic attitude, the expertise of their right-hand man Josh, and a some sideline cheering from their young son Malachi, the Wiafes must prove that the family that flips together can also stay together. HGTV first aired this program -- with its original title, FIVE FIGURE FLIP -- on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 8:30pm ET/PT, as Daniel found a property on the market in Owasso, OK, with an opening bid of just $50,000, and he jumped in sight unseen. But he overbid at the auction before discovering the place has been trashed and quickly found himself in over his head.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, HGTV aired two more sneak-peek episodes, using the show's new title, FLIPPING THE HEARTLAND. In the night's first episode (11pm), Melinda convinces Dan to take on a property in Brady Heights, OK, the town where she grew up. Then, in the night's second sneak peek (11:30pm), Dan and Melinda want to flip a home in Midtown, OK, where they find a seemingly great property, which they improve with a beautiful outdoor kitchen. FLIPPING THE HEARTLAND is scheduled to have its official series premiere in October 2015.
