Plot Synopsis

Flea-market veteran Jimmy Kaplow travels the country helping families finance their dreams by finding items hidden away in their attics, garages and storage facilities and then selling them at their local flea markets. Jimmy guides the sellers about pricing and presentation and teaches them how to haggle, but will they close enough sales before the end of a day at the flea market? Jimmy helps: a retired handyman who wants to go back to school and decides to sell a Bible owned by an aide to George Washington; a Long Beach, CA family who wants to pay their daughter's medical-school expenses by selling antiques from a house they inherited; a San Francisco woman who wants to move back to New York by raising cash from family heirlooms like a mid-century handmade Danish desk and chair set, a vintage steamer trunk, and some potentially valuable jewelry; the Texas Tornadoes, two business partners who want to start their own consignment business; an LA-based country music singer who wants to record his first album but is reluctant to sell his most valuable collectibles; a San Francisco woman who wants to finance her mother's trip to her homeland of Ukraine by selling art, silver and furniture; a toy collector who wants to convert his basement into his kids' playroom; and a Venezuelan-born chef and partner who want to republish a Spanish-language cookbook in English.
