Plot Synopsis

FIVE STAR CHEF is a six-episode elimination competition series that follows seven professional chefs, who compete to bring their fine-dining concept to the historic Palm Court restaurant at London's luxurious Langham Hotel. Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr. judges, while the cheftestants are advised by chefs and industry insiders Mike Reid and Ravneet Gill. The series opens with the seven chefs pitching their culinary vision for the Palm Court, but only seven truly exceptional chefs will make it into the competition. Then, the contestants pull out all the stops to serve deluxe dishes worthy of a sky-high price tag and try to turn a profit on a two-course lunch menu. Next, cooking refined comfort food to please a VIP guest tests the chefs' teamwork before they rise to the challenge of crafting a five-star breakfast tray. Some soar while others struggle to present their take on afternoon tea. Next, the chefs turn on the charm to cook live before the Langham's top staff. In the penultimate episode, the semifinal pushes four contestants to their limits as they craft delicate party centerpieces and cater a 100-plate banquet in real time. Finally, the three finalists fight to keep their cool and prove their concept in the Palm Court's kitchen as they each run the restaurant for a night.
