Plot Synopsis

Based on Sheri Fink's 2013 book of the same name, FIVE DAYS AT MEMORIAL is an eight-episode limited series that chronicles the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital. When the floodwaters rose, power failed and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come. The series opens with Hurricane Katrina making landfall in New Orleans, forcing doctors, nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital to tend to patients while bracing for the storm. The next day, the staff and patients think they've made it through the worst part of the storm -- except the waters aren't receding. As the city floods, the hospital loses power and the staff cope with the terrible conditions while preparing to evacuate. The first three episodes debuted on Friday, August 12, 2022 on Apple TV+, followed by a new episode each Friday through September 16.
