Plot Synopsis

This reality series follows U.S. Forest Service firefighters in the Pacific Northwest, as one group of veteran smokejumpers battles a wildfire named Discovery while rookie recruits undergo harsh training and insane terrain to see if they have what it takes. The rookie recruits are being put through their paces at the North Cascades Smokejumper base, where smokejumping was born. While making a crushing climb or jump training, some recruits find the training to be more rigorous and difficult than they expected, and all it takes is three strikes for them to be sent home packing. On the front line, the wildfire is growing quickly and starting to get out of control, forcing Division Supervisor Steve Sabo to join the fight. Sabo fears that failure to contain this inferno will be costly, especially when he knows this wildfire could throw him and his team a curve at any moment.
