Plot Synopsis
Inspired by the experiences of series star Max Thieriot's time growing up in Northern California fire country, FIRE COUNTRY is a one-hour drama series that centers on Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It's a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he's back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire. After a four-week break, FIRE COUNTRY returned with new episodes on Friday, January 6, 2023. In the winter premiere, "No Good Deed," an internal investigation is launched after a difficult rescue went awry and a life was lost.
On Friday, February 16, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT, CBS premiered the second season of FIRE COUNTRY. In the season opener, "Something's Coming," Bode is back in prison where he receives some shocking news. Meanwhile, the station 42 crew responds to a massive earthquake that rocks Edgewater to its core.
The third season of FIRE COUNTRY debuted on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, "What the Bride Said," in the midst of Gabriela and Diego's wedding, a helicopter crash ignites chaos and the team immediately jumps into action to stop fires and help victims.
