Plot Synopsis
THE FALL is a psychological thriller that forensically examines the lives of two hunters. One is Paul Spector, a serial killer who stalks his victims at random in and around Belfast; the other is Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, who is brought in to conduct a 28-day review at a Belfast station where the police are getting nowhere on a high profile murder case. The five-episode first season follows the police investigation uncovering the intricate story of the lives entangled by a series of murders --both the killer's and the victims' families. On Friday, January 16, 2015, Netflix released the U.S. premiere of the entire six-episode second season of THE FALL, which picks up immediately from where Season 1 left off, with Gibson in pursuit of Spector. A personal link from Spector's past opens up some clues for Gibson but provokes Spector in a way that threatens to jeopardize the whole investigation. Gibson is forced to take ever greater risks but the closer she comes to capturing him, the more Spector trespasses into her private world, delighting in taunting and provoking her. As the net gradually tightens around him he becomes psychologically ever more dangerous and destructive.

Netflix released the five-episode third and final season of THE FALL on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. At the climax of Season 2, audiences were left reeling as Spector, critically injured in a devastating ambush, lay bleeding in the arms of DS Stella Gibson. Moments before, the intense and single-minded investigator thought she had her man; now, shocked and desperate, she's losing him. Bringing a killer to book is going to take much more now than simply catching him. In the aftermath of the shooting, Gibson's personal journey to exact justice for the victims' families must begin with the blood-soaked fight to keep Spector alive. As THE FALL reaches its inexorable conclusion, it's clear that the rules of this deadly game of cat and mouse are set to shift once again.
