Plot Synopsis

THE FACE OF EVIL is a one-hour docuseries that follows investigators who attempt to hunt down the most heartless of killers by carefully gathering clues to build an accurate profile -- and there's always traces of the fiend somewhere left behind. Detectives often enlist the best specialized minds and techniques to help decipher the cryptic messages from the killer. From medical examiners, forensic psychologists, artists, botanists, ballistic experts, toxicologists and crime scene re-constructionists, every tool and skillset in the world is used to help police uncover the face of evil. In the season opener, "Seeds of Death," when a young woman is found shot to death near a small Alaskan village, detectives rely on forensic science and to catch her murderer. Then an eyewitness comes forward with an explosive revelation that threatens to tear apart the small town.

Investigation Discovery premiered the season finale of THE FACE OF EVIL on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season ender, "Root of All Evil," when a little girl disappears from a small Washington town over Fourth of July weekend, detectives look at suspects close to home. When her body is found two weeks later, forensic science and a tip leads to a trusted friend with a terrifying past.
