Plot Synopsis

Based on the comedy of Bill Burr and created by Burr and series showrunner Michael Price, F IS FOR FAMILY is a half-hour animated comedy series that follows the Murphy family in the 1970s, a time when you could smack your kid, smoke inside and bring a gun to the airport. The Murphy family includes: Frank, the family's extreme patriarch, who gets promoted from low-level baggage handler to a management position after the untimely death of his boss; Frank's wife, Sue, who is wondering if there is more to life; their oldest son, 14-year-old Kevin, who's experimenting with drugs; their youngest son, 11-year-old Bill, whose sensitivity makes him an easy mark for bullies; and their youngest child, Maureen, who exerts her strong will -- both through her sociopolitical stances and by bullying Bill. On Friday, December 18, 2015 at 3:01am ET/12;01am PT, Netflix released the entire six-episode first season of F IS FOR FAMILY, which is executive produced by Burr, Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley and Price.

On Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the 10-episode second season of F IS FOR FAMILY. Frank's wounded pride, Sue's piggish new co-workers and Kevin's raging hormones set off epic family fireworks as the Murphy clan staggers into 1974. In the season opener, "Heavy Sledding," as Frank stews over his lost job, Sue tries to lighten the mood with a family sledding trip -- but the outing brings on more headaches.

On Friday, November 30, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the 10-episode third season of F IS FOR FAMILY. New neighbors, growing pains and adolescent angst shake up life for the Murphy gang over one wild and unforgettable summer. Season 3 opens with the Murphys kicking off summer with a trip to the town Memorial Day parade, where bottled-up frustrations and fears about the new baby boil over. Then, Sue's hopes of a romantic night with Frank at the drive-in are dashed when he brings the new neighbors along. Kevin's bandmates drop a bombshell.

F IS FOR FAMILY returned for its fourth season on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire 10-episode new season. In Season 4, while Frank deals with an unwelcome visit from his estranged father, Sue pursues New Age pregnancy support, and the Murphy kids try out new personas.

The fifth and final season of F IS FOR FAMILY premiered on Thursday, November 25, 2021, as Netflix released the entire eight-episode new season. As 1974 draws to a close, Frank obsesses over a cryptic message from his dad, Sue tries to patch up a rift in her family, and Vic dives into parenting. In the season opener, "The Mahogany Fortress," at a family funeral, Frank deals with bottled-up emotions, Maureen befriends an embalmer, and Bill discovers the last rites can wipe away any sin.
