Plot Synopsis
EXTREME UNBOXING is a half-hour reality series that follows a group of larger-than-life personalities from across the country as they buy liquidated merchandise for pennies on the dollar and unbox it with hopes for big profits. Risking their own money to bid on and win the best boxes at the best prices, pallets are delivered to their homes for the big reveal. Each group digs through hundreds, sometimes thousands, of items on the hunt for retail gold. Whether it is one box or an entire truckload, these savvy super-flippers scour the Internet searching for their next big money score. With items ranging from everyday store stock to the weird and wacky, this modern-day treasure hunt is filled with surprises as no one, including the buyers themselves, have any idea what will be inside. The groups include:
Blake & Max: At the age of 15, Blake started fixing broken video game systems and reselling them online for profit. Ever since then, he's been his own boss and currently operates his unboxing business, The Knoblock Bros, out of a 2,000-square-foot storefront outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Blake is a risk-taker who is always willing to try something new, whether it's a new liquidation company or different type of merchandise. With contagious enthusiasm and quick-wits, Blake has become one of the most trusted voices in the reseller world, creating his own web channel where he gives honest answers on the ins and outs of the business. Blake likes to hire his family, which includes his brother Max and girlfriend Ashleigh, who likes to furnish their apartment with returned merchandise.
Bobby & Salena: Although they've only been in the reselling game for a short time, Bobby and Salena have hit the ground running with their own brick and mortar storefront called Goods Galore, located in Rochester, New York. Bobby and Salena focus on selling merchandise they can move easily in their shop, mostly home goods, but that doesn't stop them from taking chances on huge shipments of bicycles or wedding dresses. Bobby and Salena have two young children and love the chaos that comes with running their own business while providing their community with a good deal and making money doing it.
Chuck & Chris: With over 17 years experience in retail, Chuck left his six-figure salary job to start his own reselling business called Bricks To Clicks. Chuck started buying and selling liquidated merchandise out of his home basement with the help of his best friend Chris before moving into a 7,000-square-foot warehouse that they call "The Bunker." Unlike other resellers, Chuck likes buying big shipments and truckloads of pallets, as he has the space to store it. But it's Chris' job to keep Chuck from overspending, which is sometimes easier said than done. Ultimately, Chuck loves that his business allows him the flexibility to never miss a school event, and when he's not working, he's with his wife and two daughters.
Joe & Jessica: Fed up with the stress of managing a restaurant, Joe quit the daily grind to start a home business with his wife Jessica. Now they're full-time resellers, The Family Flips, who work from their garage selling merchandise locally in Arkansas, as well as online to customers all over the world. Joe's an introvert who loves taking risks and Jessica's an extrovert who likes to play it safe. But despite their differences, they both love to make each other laugh. Above all else, Joe and Jessica are dedicated to their family and love that their business allows them the freedom to raise and home school their three young children.
Pastor Paul & Heather: Pastor Paul and Heather got into the reselling game to supplement Paul's income as a minister. But it was Heather who really took it to the next level by turning it into an online business called Hooked on Pickin'. Operating out of a shed built next to their house, Heather and Pastor Paul have a booming resale business and are licensed to sell auto parts, where Heather's experience as a diesel mechanic in the Army reserves comes in handy. Heather and Pastor Paul love the flexibility that reselling has given them to help others and spend more time with their children.
Steve & Steph: Steve fell in love with Steph when they both worked for the same construction company, and he would drive an hour out of his way just to bump into her. He eventually wooed her with his sense of humor, and they've been happily married for twenty years. However, when the construction company they worked for went out of business, they suddenly found themselves unemployed. That's when they started selling their stuff online and found their true calling -- flipping pallets. Now they work out of their house in Temecula, CA as the Resale Killers, where they primarily sell at yard sales and local flea markets. Steve and Steph even started their own YouTube channel which is immensely popular.
