Plot Synopsis

Losing a loved one to murder is an emotionally devastating experience -- and when the crime goes unsolved, the pain is even worse. Every day is haunted by loss, and friends and family are tortured by endless unanswered questions. For many, that agony is completely debilitating, but for some, these raw emotions give rise to determined action. This one-hour series chronicles the incredible stories of real people taking extreme measures to solve the murder of a loved one. Those tormented by the past do everything the investigation requires from wearing a wire to turning on a family member to going places the police don't dare to explore. Though, while desperate for closure, they sometimes discover the facts can be just as damaging as the crime itself. In the series opener, "Sister Act," a young mother is killed and evidence from the crime scene doesn't sit right with her sisters, who lead a tireless fight to stop her killer in his tracks.

Season 2 of EXTREME MEASURES premiered on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Try, Try Again," when a single mother with a 4-year-old daughter is murdered, the case threatens to go cold until the little girl grows up and vows to get justice.
