Plot Synopsis

Directed and co-executive produced by Mary Harron, THE EXPECTING is a short-form sci-fi thriller about a mysterious pregnancy and the potential dark secrets surrounding it. The story opens with Emma waking up alone -- in the woods -- with no clothes on. When she finds something is wrong, she sets out to discover what she can't remember. She visits her father for help in dealing with her pregnancy, but a trip to the doctor's office forces her to open her mind about how to handle the situation. With her new mindset, Emma does her best to prepare for motherhood, including taking up swimming -- but something sinister may be lurking in the water. On Monday, October 5, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Quibi released the first three 8-minute episodes. A new episode of this 11-episode series debuts each weekday thereafter.
