Plot Synopsis

EXPECTING is a half-hour reality series that follows couples, along with their families and friends, as they experience the journey to parenthood with no camera crews or producers -- just couples capturing milestones and intimate moments on their own, using Go-Pros, fixed rigs, and self-shot confessionals. Each 30-minute episode is a standalone episode, featuring different couples. On Labor Day 2017 (Monday, September 4) at 9pm ET/PT, UP debuted the EXPECTING pilot, which highlighted the journeys of Kelsey & Corbin Scott of Portland, Oregon; Tia & Tre Patterson of Atlanta, Georgia; and Ashley & Thomas Hughes of Pleasant View, Utah. Four months later -- on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 9:30pm -- UP presented the official series premiere, "Kristen & Cory and Yohanna & Dom," which told the stories of one couple who had just completed a major life milestone when they were blindsided by a positive pregnancy test, while another adventurous twosome, who felt destined for a life together, found new frontiers -- and a baby moose -- while pregnant in Alaska.

Season 2 of EXPECTING premiered on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as UP debuted back-to-back new episodes: "Rachel & Harold; Priscilla & Rian" (9pm): Newlyweds come face to face with the reality of what army life will mean for their dreams of a family; a couple with roots in Wisconsin struggle with long-term infertility and pin their hopes on their next treatment while living in Brazil. "Stacy & Erik; Tia & Tre" (9:30pm): A pair of first-time parents navigate the challenges of being pregnant in a wheelchair, while a couple juggling life with a toddler turn date night into a unique gender reveal for their second child.

On Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, UP premiered the Season 2 finale of EXPECTING, immediately followed by a new half-hour "Baby UPdate" special:

"Ashley & Dallin; Charlotte & Cedric" (9pm; season finale): A couple from Utah have their plans for a family turned upside-down by an unexpected pregnancy, while an NFL player and his wife weather the uncertainties of pro-football as they await the birth of their first child.

"Baby UPdate: Brianna & Matt" (9:30pm; special): Two active young skateboarders embrace pregnancy with the ultimate relaxed attitude until their baby has other ideas, while a fitness professional and a metal musician try to strike their own balance between over-preparing and going with the flow. Featuring bonus scenes checking in on the new baby.
