Plot Synopsis

EXHALE is a weekly, one-hour talk show hosted by five women who discuss family, relationships, money, faith and everything that African-American women are talking about. The hosts come from different generations and backgrounds, allowing them to engage in candid discussions on a wide range of topics, sharing their personal thoughts and experiences. Plus, the women welcome special guests and subject-matter experts so they can provide a fresh perspective to topics that are always current in the lives of women. The five hosts are: journalist Angela Burt-Murray, who was the editor-in-chief of "Essence" magazine before becoming the co-founder and editorial director of Cocoa Media Group, a new digital media company; actress and comedian Erin Jackson, who was a semifinalist on Season 6 of LAST COMIC STANDING and has performed on THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW and LIVE AT GOTHAM; director, writer and actress Issa Rae, who is the CEO and Owner of Issa Rae Productions, which originated with Dorm Diaries, a short-lived chronicle of life as a college student; author and TV anchor Rene Syler, who was an anchor on THE EARLY SHOW after having reporter/anchor jobs in Reno, Birmingham and Dallas; and actress Malinda Williams, who started as a cosmetologist before her career as an actress, which included her award-winning role in Showtime's SOUL FOOD. After premiering on the one-year anniversary of ASPiRE on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 8pm ET, EXHALE moved to its regular timeslot on Wednesdays at 8pm ET with a repeat of the first episode on July 3 and new episodes starting on July 10. EXHALE returned for its second season on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on ASPiRE. In the Season 2 premiere, "What Is Love?," author and physician Dr. Sharon Allison-Ottey help the hosts explore this age-old question. Plus, the women are joined by actress and comedian Niecy Nash, producer Will Packer, and THE DOCTORS co-host Dr. Rachael Ross.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, ASPiRE premiered the third season of EXHALE, immediately following a marathon of encore episodes from 5-9pm. In the Season 3 opener, "Friendships," the hosts and their guests -- relationship expert Hasani Pettiford; therapist Eve Marie Ford; gospel singer Erica Campbell; and R&B singer Johnny Gill -- discuss the importance of friendships and answer the age-old question about whether men and woman can be just friends.
