Plot Synopsis

THE EMPRESS is a six-episode historical drama series that focuses on rebellious 16-year-old Elisabeth, who falls for her sister's fiance, Emperor Franz. But Elisabeth's path is anything but easy, as she must fight her way to Franz through intrigue, etiquette and taboos. After she moves to Vienna and becomes his unlikely bride, together they embark on a dangerous path, surrounded by power struggles and intrigues.
