Plot Synopsis
Created by Amy Poehler and Mike & Julie Scully, DUNCANVILLE is a half-hour animated comedy series that centers on the life of Duncan, a spectacularly average 15-year old boy, and the people in his world. His mother, Annie, lives in perpetual fear that her teenage son is one bad decision from ruining his life and will do anything to stop him from doing so. His father, Jack, is determined to be a better dad than his father. Rounding out the family are two younger sisters Kimberly and Jing. Helping Duncan navigate adolescence are his friends, class clown Bex, trendy influencer Yangzi, aspiring troubled youth Wolf, and Duncan's on-again, off-again crush, Mia. Guest voices include: Alex Honnold as himself; Alice Cooper as himself; and more.
The sophomore season of DUNCANVILLE premiered on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 8:30pm ET/PT on FOX, with a second episode the same night at 9:30pm. The adventures continue in the new season when the Harris family takes its first vacation in the season debut (8:30pm), "Das Banana Boot." The episode features PARKS AND RECREATION stars Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Retta and Nick Offerman making guest voice appearances. In the night's second episode (9:30pm), "Duncan's New Word," Duncan says the one thing no kid should ever say to their dad, which shifts their power dynamic and forces Jack to confront his own father. Meanwhile, Kimberly and Jing have a window to do whatever they want, as Annie and Jack deal with Duncan's issue. Other storylines in the new season include Duncan and Kimberly being sent to therapy camp; Jing and Jack starting a child birthday band together, with Annie managing them; and Duncan racing stock cars.
Season 3 of DUNCANVILLE premiered on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 7:30pm ET/PT on FOX. In the season premiere, "Gamer vs. Gamer," Duncan and his friends visit a Twitch star's (guest voice Ninja) private island, only to end up hunted in a viral event for charity. Meanwhile, Jack and Annie look through a photo album, in which Jack included their mug shots and realizes he spent a weekend in jail that Annie didn't. Wiz Khalifa returns for another season as Duncan's teacher, Mr. Mitch. Other Season 3 stories include Duncan finding a knife and becoming the school's alpha; Jack getting jealous of Annie's "work husband"; Mr. Mitch is offered a promotion to Vice Principal, if he can pass a drug test; Duncan is traumatized when he accidentally sees his mom naked; Annie helps reform her no-good brother, Stan, until he starts dating Annie's much older neighbor; and Duncan and Mia's first kiss.
