Plot Synopsis
Based on the web series of the same name, DRUNK HISTORY is a weekly, half-hour TV series that features celebrities re-enacting famous moments in American history, while drunk people provide rambling and sometimes incoherent narration that embellishes the actual events. In each 30-minute episode, DRUNK HISTORY presents three comical historical re-enactments that took place in a single U.S. city, including: Washington, DC (narrators: Matt Gourley, Allan McLeod & Eric Edelstein), where Woodward (Nathan Fielder) and Bernstein blow open the Watergate scandal with President Nixon (Bob Odenkirk) and Deep Throat (Fred Willard), actors/brothers Edwin (Will Forte) and John Wilkes Booth (Adam Scott) engage in a tragic feud ending with the assassination of President Lincoln (Stephen Merchant), and Elvis (Jack Black) abuses his power when he gets a federal badge as an honorary drug enforcement agent; Chicago, where Al Capone gets destroyed by an unlikely enemy, prairie lawyer Abraham Lincoln gets a huge break, and the police go to war with protestors during the Haymarket Riot; Atlanta, where John Pemberton invents Coca-Cola from wine and cocaine, the FBI tries to take down Martin Luther King Jr., and Stetson Kennedy infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan; Boston, where Mary Dyer wages war with the Puritan establishment, two cunning thieves pull off a $500 million art heist, and the most notorious arsonist in New England history is revealed and other locations like Detroit, Nashville, San Francisco, and the Wild West. In addition to the stars listed above, these celebrities also appear: Lisa Bonet, Connie Britton, Michael Cera, Terry Crews, Andy Daly, Dave Grohl, Bill Hader, Tony Hale, Ben Hoffman, Jake Johnson, Kyle Kinane, Jen Kirkman, Natasha Leggero, Jack McBrayer, Kevin Nealon, Chris Parnell, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Riggle, Jason Ritter, Winona Ryder, Horatio Sanz, Will Sasso, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Slate, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Wiig, Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson.
