Plot Synopsis
DRUM HEADS is a reality series that follows brothers Scott and Mike Ciprari at their Massachusetts company, SJC Custom Drums, where the duo has designed custom drum kits for more than 1,700 artists, including notable names like Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Keyshia Cole and more. In 2012, the team celebrated their 10th anniversary as a company, which they started in their grandmother's basement, and now they continue to follow their dream of being the number one custom drum company in the world -- while butting heads all the way there. In each 30-minute episode, the brothers build a drum kit for one famous musical client and donate a second custom drum kit to an organization that needs a little extra help. Their clients include: Jake Massucco from the band Four Year Strong, who wants a Boston Celtic-themed custom drum kit before the group enters the studio; Matt Kelly, the drummer for Dropkick Murphys, who needs a custom kit for their annual St. Patrick's Day concert in Boston; Zac Hanson, one-third of the biggest pop bands of the '90s, Hanson, who requests a custom drum kit within a week; Ryan Leger, drummer for one of the staff's favorite groups, Every Time I Die, who orders an alligator-themed custom drum kit to be completed within days; and Craig Wright, country artist Eric Church's drummer, for whom the guys visit an equestrian center for inspiration. Plus, the brothers donate drum kits to: local music students at the Boys & Girls Club; youth at a Massachusetts YMCA; the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester; a local high school that's facing recovery; and the Franciscan Hospital for Children, which has one of the oldest music therapy programs in Boston.
