Plot Synopsis
Each year since 1969, the Gospel Music Association has honored outstanding achievements in the Gospel/Christian music community, while celebrating the gospel through music of all styles including Pop, Rock, Praise & Worship, Urban Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Country and more. Originally known as the GMA MUSIC AWARDS, the first two events were held in Memphis and then moved to Nashville, where they were held every year through 2010, even after the event changed its name to the GMA DOVE AWARDS in 2007. The DOVE AWARDS moved to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta for 2011 and 2012, returning to Nashville in 2013.

In 2016, the 47th Annual DOVE AWARDS were held at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, and were broadcast on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) less than a week later on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 10pm ET/7pm PT. Hosted by duo for KING & COUNTRY and Tye Tribbett, the 2016 event paid tribute to Kendrick Brothers Productions (Impact Award Winner), Tyscot Records (Lifetime Achievement Award Winner), and Michael Jr. (Grady Nutt Humor Award Winner), while featuring performances by singers, songwriters, bands, and artists like Matthew West, Big Daddy Weave, Greater Vision, Jonathan McReynolds, Joseph Habedank, Karen Peck & New River, Kingdom Heirs, The Isaacs, TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Anthony Brown and Group TherAPy, Bethel Music, Hollyn, Hillsong UNITED, Natalie Grant, Phillips, Craig & Dean and Tamela Mann.
