Plot Synopsis
In this half-hour anime series, the life of a young boy, Noby, is changed forever when Doraemon, a robot cat from the future, hops out of his desk drawer, and the duo use Doraemon's magical portal, the Anywhere Door, his high-tech gadgets, and the flying Hopter to enjoy adventures together. Each 30-minute episode is comprised of two stories, including: Doraemon's gadget turning Noby's spaceship drawing into a working model; Doraemon relating the history of a gadget that swaps out common objects for much nicer replacements; Noby overdoing it with one of Doraemon's gadgets, causing him to have a major identity crisis; and many more hijinks. Disney XD aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 12:30pm ET/PT, slightly changing stories, onscreen objects (e.g., Dollars instead of Yen) and names (e.g., Noby = Nobita in original; Sneech = Suneo; Big G = Gian; Hopter = Takecopter; Anywhere Door = Dokodemo Door) to appeal to an American audience and comply with U.S. guidelines for violence and adult situations.
