Plot Synopsis

Filmed in Rome, DOMINA is an eight-part historical drama series that follows the extraordinary rise of Emperor Augustus Caesar's third wife, Livia Drusilla. The series brings to life the exploits, affairs, and battles for political clout that surrounded this power couple who sat at the heart of the Roman Empire. The story of Livia opens from her early life as a naive young girl in the wake of Julius Caesar's assassination, through her rise to become the emperor Augustus' wife, becoming Rome's most powerful and influential empress. DOMINA had its U.S. premiere on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on EPIX.

Season 2 of DOMINA made its U.S. debut on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 9-11pm ET/PT on MGM+, which debuted back-to-back episodes. A new episode debuts weekly on Sundays at 9pm. Livia needs all her intelligence and guile to navigate the politics of Rome and restore the Republic, ultimately choosing between power and vengeance. In the season opener, "Conspiracy" (9pm), Livia and Gaius return to famine in Rome; Gaius starts a succession race. Then, in the second episode, "Wedding" (10pm), Drusus and Antonina's wedding is threatened; Livia's marriage is tested.

On Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 9-11pm ET/PT, MGM+ aired the U.S. debut of the final two episodes of Season 2:

"Curse" (9pm): Livia is threatened on her way to a wedding; she has to make a life-threatening decision.

"Control" (10pm): Livia must reassert control of the family; news from Germany has devastating consequences.
