Plot Synopsis
Dog the Bounty Hunter, Beth Chapman and their son, Leland, help fellow bail bondsmen and bounty hunters transform their struggling businesses. In DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER, the family caught criminals in Colorado and Hawaii, and now in this new reality series, DOG AND BETH: ON THE HUNT, the trio are helping mom-and-pop bail-bond agencies facing extinction because of bad legislation, untrained or ineffective bounty hunters or just plain bad decisions. Not only do Dog and Beth help owners turn their failing businesses around through their stressful strategizing process, but Leland teaches them how to use cutting-edge equipment. Plus, they launch a national education and fugitive finding mission, as they crisscross the United States training bounty hunters while looking for the most cunning, most notorious, and the most dangerous fugitives on the streets today. On Sunday, April 14 at 8pm ET/PT -- one week before the series premiere -- CMT aired a two-hour preview special, which went behind-the-scenes to find out how this famous family reunites -- and becomes whole again -- after its devastating breakup. This special showed the dramatic struggles of a professional bounty-hunting team attempting to move on without a crucial team member, a father and son both battling their own pride and the Chapman's unwavering belief in second chances. ON THE HUNT returned for its 15-episode second season on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on CMT. In Season 2, Dog introduces new high-tech surveillance gear and the latest in cutting-edge ballistic equipment during more adrenaline-filled hunts, dramatic captures and emotional moments of redemption than ever before. This season also includes a very special episode celebrating Dog's birthday. In the first all-new episode, Dog and Beth head to Jackson, MI, to round up fugitives with their old friend Jeff Kirkpatrick at Lodise Bail Bonds. While in Jackson, Dog and Beth help train aspiring bounty hunter Dion Shepherd, a young man striving for a future more promising than the heartbreak he's witnessed on the streets of Detroit. In the first of a gritty two-part episode, weapons are drawn, emotions escalate to an all-time high and even Dog is pushed to his limit when an altercation in the streets gets physical. On Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 9-11pm ET/PT, CMT premiered the third season of DOG AND BETH: ON THE HUNT, as the cable channel premiered back-to-back new episodes. Armed with a passion for justice, Dog, Beth and Leland are back on the frontlines traveling across the U.S. zeroing in on the country's most dangerous criminals. In true Chapman fashion, Dog and Beth welcome a new member to the team, their 22-year-old daughter Cecily, for an even bigger family affair. Beyond the chase, the Chapman's are also parlaying their expertise to their fellow bondsmen on how to safely capture fugitives while introducing and training them on the latest in high-tech surveillance gear and ballistic equipment. This season, expect the unexpected when Dog, Beth and the gang travel to places like Hawaii, Texas and Alabama with more adrenaline-filled action and moments of redemption than ever. In the season opener (9pm), "Return to the 'Aina," the Chapmans return to Hawaii after training bounty hunters across the U.S.; competitors have taken advantage of the Chapmans' absence; a convict may jump bail. Then, in the night's second new episode (10pm), "Cecily Steps Up," Cecily makes good on a bond after she decides to take down the missing fugitive; Dog lets Cecily and Dakota lead a search.
