Plot Synopsis

This documentary series follows the lives of expat doctors and their patients at medical facilities run by Medecins San Frontieres in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These doctors work in the remotest parts of the country, struggling to overcome red tape to get supplies, performing pioneering surgeries on victims of vicious guerrilla attacks, treating villagers for a variety of ailments and injuries, and trying to avoid succumbing to deadly diseases like malaria. One month after broadcasting the program in the U.K., Current aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 10pm ET.
