Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by series star Jason Segel, DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE is a one-hour drama series that's centered around four ordinary people -- Peter, Janice, Fredwynn and Simone -- who feel there's something missing in their lives. This diverse foursome is brought together by chance -- or perhaps it's by design -- when they stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life. As they begin to accept the mysterious 'Dispatches from Elsewhere' challenges, they come to find that the mystery winds deeper than they imagined, and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic.

Fredwynn is an obsessive conspiracy theorist who is always trying to solve the puzzle. He's ambitious to the point of having no real personal relationships and needs to learn to let people in and express empathy.

Janice is a former homemaker, now empty-nester, whose husband of 30 years is in hospice and is realizing that nothing lasts forever and that her life didn't turn out the way she thought it would. As she's beginning to question what life is without her partner, she needs to reclaim her identity.

Peter is a regular guy who feels he's living a meaningless life, without joy or pain. On this journey, he learns to wake up, to take risks, to enjoy life and to feel and be emotionally vulnerable.

Simone has spent her whole life feeling like she was invited by mistake and her insecurities regarding not fitting in and not feeling like herself constantly serve as progression roadblocks. As she makes a huge life change, she still struggles with the feelings of belonging and acceptance that she is hoping for.

DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE debuted with a two-night premiere event on Sunday, March 1 and Monday, March 2, 2020. The premiere episode aired Sunday, March 1 at 10pm ET/PT, following THE WALKING DEAD with the second episode airing the next night in the series' regular time slot -- Mondays at 10pm -- following BETTER CALL SAUL.

On Monday, April 27, 2020 from 10-11:15pm ET/PT, AMC premiered "The Boy," the season finale of DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE. A final mystery is solved.
