Plot Synopsis

Chef Robert Irvine is challenged to accomplish the nearly impossible. Sometimes he's asked to feed hundreds of people an imaginative meal that meets his high standards while using assistants who are not professionals. Other times he has to cook a intimate meal for a small gathering of people in less-than-ideal conditions, like when he had to use an 18th Century kitchen. Of course, he doesn't find out about the challenge until the last minute, and he has to work under extreme time pressure. On the show, he's cooked at an Ice Hotel, at Pixar to celebrate "Ratatouille," for master instructors at the Culinary Institute of America and at the Inauguration of Pennsylvania's Governor. Robert Irvine hosted the program from the beginning, but he was temporarily replaced by Michael Symon in July 2008 because of some inconsistencies in Robert's resume regarding his involvement with food preparation for Britain's Royal Family and various U.S. presidents. Robert was reinstated as host in April 2009.

On Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT, DINNER: IMPOSSIBLE returned for its ninth season. In the season opener, "Mission in Paradise," Robert arrives on Oahu, Hawaii, with one mission: make a feast without a kitchen for 30 locals, using only produce and proteins he can gather on the legendary Kualoa Ranch. Robert and his team must battle the weather, harvest their ingredients and manage an unpredictable underground oven to pull off the impossible.

Season 10 of DINNER: IMPOSSIBLE premiered on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. During the season Robert heads to the famous Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH, to celebrate the 150th anniversary by hosting a dinner for super-fans at the park. Robert is challenged to take four of the park's most popular menu items and put his over-the-top spin on them along with creating dishes inspired by some of the park's favorite rides. However, Robert and his team better buckle up for this thrilling adventure as they can only use food found within the park's concession stands for their dishes. Other episodes feature Robert in Asheville, NC, where he and his team compete against three of the state's best food trucks in a local food truck showdown. With a limited budget and beer needing to be used in every dish, the truck that makes the most money wins. And in Albuquerque, NM, Robert must prepare a New Mexico-themed feast for stadium employees of the local minor league baseball team. Facing bad weather, limited ingredients, and frozen food, can Robert pull off this impossible dinner?
