Plot Synopsis

Ringy (aka 'Ringmaster Tim' Saylor), KG (aka 'King George' Wyant) and Team ATC travel across America as they use metal detectors to uncover buried treasure, lost coins and historical artifacts. Each 30-minute episode focuses on a single dig, including: a shuttered prison in Montana, where they help a local museum curator search for artifacts from the most notorious outlaws of the Old West; the hurricane-ravaged beaches of Charleston, SC, where the storms churned up the shoreline, revealing all kinds of treasure; the historic old ghost town of Chesterfield, Idaho; western Pennsylvania, the heart of the late 1700s Whiskey Rebellion; and many more locations. As the founders of Anaconda Treasures, Saylor, a software developer, and Wyant, who works at Montana Resources, have distributed a series of instructional DVDs and books for treasure hunting, including the "Extreme Metal Detecting" series. Nat Geo aired two back-to-back pilot episodes at 10pm ET on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, more than 10 months before the official series premiere on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. DIGGERS returned for a new season on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, as Nat Geo aired back-to-back new episodes. In the season premiere, KG and Ringy searched in Aspen, CO, for a time tube containing the mouse from Steve Jobs' first mass-marketed Lisa computer. In the night's second episode, the guys visited Pennsylvania, hunting for two forts from the Revolutionary War: Wolff's Fort and Rice's Fort, which could be the site of the last battle of the Revolutionary War. On Monday, July 20, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT, Nat Geo premiered a new season of DIGGERS, as the cable channel debuted back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (10pm), "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid," KG and Ringy are in Wyoming's Hole-in-the-Wall Valley, hot on the trail of one of the Wild West's most notorious outlaws, Butch Cassidy. In the late 1800s, Butch and his sidekick, the Sundance Kid, earned a good living and a bad reputation robbing thousands of dollars from banks and trains. The Diggers are searching the spot where Butch, Sundance and their gang of bandits hid out. If they left any treasure behind, KG and Ringy are determined to find it. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Madison's Montpelier," the Diggers head to Virginia to follow in the footsteps of the fourth president of the United States, James Madison. Madison was one of the most important figures in American history, and KG and Ringy have been granted exclusive access to his historic homes -- his estate, Montpelier, and his birthplace, Belle Grove Plantation -- to look for artifacts that could help shed more light on the "Father of the Constitution."

On Monday, September 7, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT, Nat Geo premiered the Season 4 finale of DIGGERS, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (10pm), "Lewis & Clark's Montana Bonanza," KG and Ringy are in Montana following in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark, the legendary explorers who paved the way for westward expansion. If there's any evidence of their expedition left behind, the Diggers are determined to find it. Along the way, they'll also search for Twenty-Eight Mile Station, a lost stagecoach stop that hosted travelers from the headwaters of the Missouri River heading to the Pacific Northwest. Then, in the season finale (10:30pm), "Nazis in Mississippi," the Diggers are searching for World War II German artifacts in the heart of Mississippi, where hundreds of thousands of German prisoners of war were locked up right here in the U.S. In 1943, the US military started bringing German POWs to the United States to relieve the stress of housing them in England and North Africa. KG and Ringy are headed to Camp Clinton, a major POW basecamp established in Mississippi.
