Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by series star Diarra Kilpatrick, DIARRA FROM DETROIT is a one-hour mystery dramedy series that follows a divorcing schoolteacher who refuses to believe she's been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. Her search for the missing man pulls her into a decades-old mystery involving the Detroit underworld. As the case unfolds, her co-workers, friends, and lovers become unlikely allies as she falls down a dangerous rabbit hole. Guest stars include: Kash Doll as Maisha, John Salley as Tony Kincaid, Icewear Vezzo as Leroy, and Julio Macias as Young Marshall.

On Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10pm ET, BET, BET Her, and VH1 aired the first episode as a sneak-peek episode of DIARRA FROM DETROIT, immediately following the 55th NAACP Image Awards. In this special airing, "Chasing Ghosts," separated from her husband, Diarra Brickland downloads a dating app and has a great first date with Chris; sadly, he doesn't show up for their second date, which leads Diarra to dig up a missing person case from the 1990s.

DIARRA FROM DETROIT had its official series debut five days later on Thursday, March 21, 2024 on BET+, which released the first five episodes. A new installment drops weekly on Thursdays.

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, BET+ released "The House on Blaine," the season finale of DIARRA FROM DETROIT. Diarra and Danger make a shocking discovery at Deonte's grave, and Diarra orchestrates a meeting between the Woodward Boys and the Greeks, leading to a violent showdown at Velvet's house.
