Plot Synopsis

Amidst the political conflict of Northern Ireland in the 1990s, five high school students square off with the universal challenges of being a teenager. The series opens with a bomb scare on a nearby bridge, but Erin, Clare, Michelle, Orla and James are facing something much more daunting: the first day of school. Unable to afford the upcoming school trip to Paris, the girls turn to the workforce to make some money. But will their efforts go up in smoke? It's the day of the big test, but an encounter with a dog detours the girls to a potentially divine apparition and a visit with a very godlike priest. The arrival of a Ukrainian refugee disrupts Erin's life but presents opportunity for James. Joe's romantic interest stokes the ire of his daughters.
