Plot Synopsis
STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore, as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The story opens with Courtney moving to Nebraska with her family, when she discovers her stepfather, Pat Dugan, is hiding a major secret. The series focuses on the character that started creator Geoff Johns' career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion. Now, this drama series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America. DC UNIVERSE released the first episode of STARGIRL on Monday, May 18, 2020, with a new episode debuting on subsequent Monday mornings. The following day, The CW airs the linear television premiere of each episode one day after its world premiere.
The sophomore season of DC's STARGIRL premiered on The CW on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT. The new season is exclusively on the broadcast network for its new season. With summer break around the corner, Pat suggests the family take a vacation after seeing that Courtney has been spending too much time focused on being Stargirl and not enough time on her schoolwork. Meanwhile, as Beth attempts to reconnect with Chuck, she stumbles upon a major secret her parents have been keeping from her. Elsewhere, Yolanda continues to be haunted by Brainwave's death, and Rick secretly tracks Solomon Grundy after suspecting he may still be in the area.
Season 3 of DC'S STARGIRL premiered on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. With Starman back from the dead and her former super-villain enemies vowing to reform, Courtney is hopeful that there will finally be peace in Blue Valley. But when The Gambler arrives to town looking to make his own amends, the team find themselves at odds over whether he can be trusted.
