Plot Synopsis

Sisters and business partners Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis traded high power careers in fashion and finance to pursue their passion for baking, and they used their life savings to open Georgetown Cupcake on Valentine's Day 2008. Even with their grandmother's recipes and strong family support, they were surprised the shop became an overnight sensation, now selling more than 5,000 cupcakes a day. On November 5, 2008 -- only nine months after it opened -- Georgetown Cupcake won Cupcake Wars, an eight-week contest run by "The Washington Post" in its quest to find the best cupcakes in Washington DC. Then, in March 2010 their cupcakes whipped the frosting off the goods from 31 other DC-area bakeries, and Georgetown Cupcake won the 2010 Washingtonian.com Cupcake Cup. Now, you can follow these sisters as they continue to build their family-owned bakery. From baking and decorating thousands of gourmet cupcakes a day, to meeting tight deadlines for discerning clientele, to securing large projects such as fundraisers, festivals and weddings, there is never a dull moment with this sister duo.
